Allergy Testing & Treatment

 
Finally, get the treatment you deserve! Our staff is highly trained in using specific tests to find out the cause of your allergies to determine the best course of treatment. Mold, pollens, animal hair, plants, and trees are all common causes of allergies. There can be many more causes, including foods such as nuts, shellfish, dairy, and gluten.

Allergy Testing

We use the Scratch Testing Method, which is non-invasive and pain-free. The test involves placing a small amount of the suspected allergy-causing substance (allergen) on the skin (usually the forearm, upper arm, or the back), and then scratching or pricking the skin so that the allergen is introduced under the skin surface. The skin is observed closely for signs of a reaction, which usually includes swelling and redness of the site. With this test, several suspected allergens can be tested at the same time, and results are usually obtained within about 20 minutes. At Hope Health and Wellness, we offer separate allergy tests for environmental and food allergies.

1. Environmental

The environmental allergy test tests 72 specific allergens, including mold, pollen, animal hair, plants, and trees.

2. Food

The food allergy test tests 36 specific food allergens including nuts, shellfish, gluten, dairy, etc.
