PAIN MANAGEMENT

Trigger Point Injections

A trigger point injection is a procedure designed to reduce or relieve the back pain caused by trigger points. These small knots can form in muscles or in the fascia tissue leading to myofascial pain.

Occipital Nerve Block

An occipital nerve block is a procedure that involves injecting pain-relieving medication and steroids into your greater and lesser occipital nerves. It’s primarily used as a treatment for chronic migraines and headaches.

Stellate Block

A stellate ganglion block is an injection of local anesthetic (numbing medicine) to block the sympathetic nerves located on either side of the voice box in the neck. An injection at these nerves may reduce symptoms such as pain, swelling, color, sweating changes in the upper extremity and may also improve mobility.

Facet Blocks

A lumbar facet joint block is an injection of local anesthetic (numbing medicine) into one or more of the small joints located along the side of each vertebra on both sides of the spine in the lower part of the back. Multiple injections may be performed, depending upon how many joints are involved.

Occipital Nerve Block

Occipital nerve block is a procedure involving injection of steroids or anesthetics into regions of the greater occipital nerve and the lesser occipital nerve used to treat chronic headaches

Facet Rhizotomy

Rhizotomy is a surgical procedure to sever nerve roots in the spinal cord. The procedure effectively relieves chronic back pain and muscle spasms. For spinal joint pain, a facet rhizotomy may provide lasting low back pain relief by disabling the sensory nerve at the facet joint.

Epidural Steroid Injections

An epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a minimally invasive procedure that can help relieve neck, arm, back, and leg pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves due to spinal stenosis or disc herniation.

Lumbar Sympathetic Block

A lumbar sympathetic block is an injection of medication that helps relieve lower back or leg pain (sciatica). It can be used to treat: Reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Complex regional pain syndrome.
